Hyperloop: Travel at 1,000 km/h, Reach Jaipur from Delhi in 30 Minutes – Railway Minister Conducts Inspection

Category-

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected India’s first Hyperloop test track on Saturday. This track, approximately 422 meters long, is designed to support train speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. A team of young engineers from IIT Madras has developed the technology for this track.

After the inspection, the minister stated that the central government is collaborating with educational institutions to innovate in future transportation. A team of young engineers at IIT Madras is developing the Hyperloop test track, which operates using vacuum-generated magnetic levitation. Instead of running directly on the track, the pod floats above it. In the future, this technology could cover a distance of 300 km in just 30 minutes.

Sachin Pandey, a student associated with IIT Madras’ Hyperloop project, explained that the current pod design has a transport capacity of 1,000 kg. This means it can carry either 11 passengers or up to 1,000 kg of cargo.

What is Hyperloop?

Hyperloop is a high-speed transportation system that operates using magnetic levitation technology. The train, in the form of a pod, travels inside an elevated transparent tube supported by pillars. The pod moves while levitating in the air, reducing friction and allowing speeds of 1,100–1,200 km/h. This technology consumes less electricity and produces no pollution.
