The Delhi Metro’s Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has successfully completed the tunnel construction at Vasant Kunj under the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor of Phase 4. Union Minister Manohar Lal was also present on this occasion. With the completion of this tunnel, the 26-kilometer-long Golden Line will be fully constructed. This metro line will run from Aerocity to Tughlakabad and will also benefit commuters from Gurugram. The tunnel breakthrough was successfully achieved near the Vasant Kunj metro station.
Union Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Manohar Lal, was present along with DMRC officials and staff during the tunnel breakthrough. After the successful completion of the tunnel, he expressed his happiness and stated, “It is a great moment that the tunneling work for DMRC’s Aerocity-Tughlakabad project—Golden Line—has been completed. I congratulate the DMRC officials and technical experts involved in this project. This 26-kilometer-long Golden Line will be completed on time, providing great convenience to the people of Delhi for their daily commute.”

Manohar Lal further mentioned that the Golden Line will have an interchange facility at Chhatarpur metro station, allowing people from Gurugram to travel on this route. He also stated that apart from Gurugram, the Golden Line will benefit commuters traveling to Old Delhi and Jahangirpuri. Additionally, people from Ballabhgarh and ISBT will also be connected through Tughlakabad. Expressing his happiness, he added that the Delhi Metro network is set to become one of the largest metro networks in the world.
