A 2-Hour Journey Will Be Completed in 15 Minutes – Major Update on This Expressway Being Built in NCR

To improve connectivity between Noida’s upcoming Jewar Airport and other parts of the country, the government is constructing new expressways and highways. As part of this initiative, a greenfield expressway is being built from Faridabad to Jewar Airport. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has now received approval to construct an 8.5-kilometer elevated section on this expressway. Due to this elevation, the total project cost is expected to increase by approximately 48 percent, reaching ₹2,450 crore.

The construction of pillars for this elevated section has already begun near Sector 65, and this section will play a crucial role in connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with the local city infrastructure. However, there is still no agreement between NHAI and the state government regarding shared funding. Once this agreement is finalized, the construction work is expected to speed up.

Six-lane expressway under Bharatmala Project

The six-lane Faridabad-Jewar Expressway is being developed under the Bharatmala Project and will have a total length of 31 kilometers. It will stretch from Ballabhgarh to Dayanatpur village near Jewar, passing through several villages, including Chandawali, Sotai, Bahbalpur, Fafunda, Panhera Khurd, Narhawali, Mohammadpur, Heerapur, Mohna, and Chainsa. This project aims to enhance road connectivity and boost economic development along the Faridabad-Jewar corridor.

Travel time reduced from 2 hours to 15 minutes

Once completed, the Faridabad-Jewar Expressway will connect Ballabhgarh to Jewar Airport in just 15 minutes, compared to the current travel time of nearly 2 hours. The six-lane expressway will reduce the travel distance from 90 kilometers to 31 kilometers. According to NHAI, development work has already begun.

Out of the total 31-kilometer stretch, 22 kilometers will pass through Haryana, while the remaining 9 kilometers will be in Uttar Pradesh. This expressway will provide a direct link between Faridabad, Gurugram, and Jewar Airport.

Real estate and industrial growth expected

The Faridabad-Jewar Expressway is expected to be a game-changer for the region. Once operational, it is anticipated to increase real estate prices in the surrounding villages and areas by 30 to 40 percent. Apart from improving connectivity, the expressway will boost industrial development and benefit the real estate sector, making it a significant infrastructure project for the region.
