Same Date, New Timing: Delhi’s New CM to Take Oath at Ramlila Maidan at This Time

The swearing-in ceremony timing for Delhi’s new chief minister has been changed. Initially scheduled for 4:30 PM on February 20, the event will now take place at 11 AM on the same day. While the timing has been altered, the date remains unchanged.

Grand Preparations for the Swearing-in Ceremony

Preparations for the grand oath-taking ceremony are in full swing, and Ramlila Maidan has been finalized as the venue. However, a consensus on the next chief minister’s name has not yet been reached. It is expected that the name will be announced during the BJP legislative meeting on February 19.

Security Arrangements: Road Closures Near Ramlila Maidan

Starting the night of February 19, all roads leading to Ramlila Maidan will be closed, except for VVIP vehicles. The event is set to witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and over 50 high-security leaders. Additionally, chief ministers from 20 states, all union ministers, and NDA leaders have been invited.

Star-studded Event with 50 Bollywood Celebrities

Before the swearing-in, a grand cultural program will be held on stage. Popular singer Kailash Kher will perform at the event. Bollywood stars such as Akshay Kumar, Vivek Oberoi, Hema Malini, and over 50 other celebrities are expected to attend. Industrial tycoons like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani will also be present, alongside religious leaders like Baba Ramdev, Swami Chidanand, and Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Shastri.

30,000 Special Guests Invited, Including ‘Ladli Behnas’ and Farmers

The event will host 30,000 guests, including BJP leaders and workers from other states who contributed to the Delhi Assembly elections. The ‘Ladli Behnas’ (women beneficiaries of welfare schemes) and farmers will also be invited. Leaders of NDA’s alliance partners will be present as well.

Top Contenders for Delhi’s CM Post

  1. Parvesh Verma – Leading the race, he defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat.
  2. Ashish Sood – BJP general secretary and Janakpuri MLA, known for his close ties with central leaders.
  3. Rekha Gupta – A strong female candidate, elected from Shalimar Bagh.
  4. Vijender Gupta – Rohini MLA, one of Delhi BJP’s senior-most leaders and former leader of the opposition in the assembly.
  5. Satish Upadhyay – Malviya Nagar MLA, a prominent Brahmin leader and former Delhi BJP president.
  6. Jitender Mahajan – A Vaishya community leader and a strong RSS representative.
  7. Shikha Roy – Defeated AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj in Greater Kailash, emerging as a key female contender.

With the chief minister announcement expected on February 19, all eyes are on the Delhi BJP leadership as they finalize their choice for the top post.
