Delhi Police Releases Traffic Advisory for Republic Day 2025: Key Details

Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, announcing restrictions and diversions to ensure smooth movement. According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D.K. Gupta, traffic restrictions will start from 9:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, with city borders closed to non-essential vehicles until the parade concludes on January 26.

Key traffic restrictions include road closures, with C-Hexagon shutting after 9:15 PM on Saturday, and Kartavya Path remaining closed from 5:00 PM until the parade ends. The parade will begin at 10:30 AM on Sunday, covering Vijay Chowk, Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, Tilak Marg, and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and ending at Red Fort.

Major diversions will be in place, restricting cross traffic on Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road from 10:00 PM on Saturday. C-Hexagon will be inaccessible between 9:15 AM and the parade’s passage on Tilak Marg. From 10:30 AM onwards, traffic will be blocked on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Subhash Marg, except for controlled cross traffic.

Commuters are advised to avoid the parade route between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM. While access to train stations remains unaffected, delays are possible. Metro services will continue to operate as usual.
