With the term of the Delhi state assembly set to end on 15th February 2025, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar announced the dates for the Delhi elections on Tuesday.

In a media address, Rajiv Kumar stated, “Today at 2 PM, we will announce the details related to the Delhi elections. The press conference will be held at 2 PM today, and all questions will be addressed during the session.” This announcement is expected to provide crucial information regarding the election dates, procedures, and preparations by the election commission.

The 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections saw a massive victory for the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), who won 62 out of the 70 seats, securing a decisive mandate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its closest competitor, won only 8 seats, while the Congress Party, which once dominated Delhi, failed to win any seats.
