Bad Newz Review: A Rollercoaster of Laughter & Emotions

Bad Newz is a delightful rollercoaster of laughter and emotions, blending comedy with a unique twist. Directed by Anand Tiwari, this sequel to Good Newwz introduces us to Saloni Bagga (played by Triptii Dimri), who finds herself pregnant with twins conceived through a rare phenomenon: heteropaternal superfecundation. Translation? Two biological dads!

The film kicks off with Saloni’s whirlwind romance and marriage to Akhil Chaddha (Vicky Kaushal), a man longing for family while she dreams of culinary stardom. Their incompatibility leads to divorce, and Saloni seeks a fresh start in Mussourie. There, she has a one-night stand with her boss, Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk). But fate has other plans—Saloni’s pregnant with twins, and both Akhil and Gurbir are potential fathers!

The comedic battle between the two men for Saloni’s love and fatherhood is the heart of the film. While the plot may feel familiar, the outrageous humor keeps you hooked. Director Anand Tiwari and writers Tarun Dudeja and Ishita Moitra sprinkle the narrative with witty one-liners, ensuring chuckles even during serious moments.

The film’s pacing stumbles a bit in the rushed first act, but the cast’s chemistry compensates. Highlights include playful jabs at Bollywood tropes, like Akhil’s possessiveness over a Katrina Kaif poster and Gurbir’s deadpan declaration that he’s “no Manmarziyan’s Vicky Kaushal.

The soundtrack, featuring catchy tunes like “Raula Raula,” “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam,” and “Jaanam,” adds to the breezy vibe. However, their rapid-fire placement disrupts the flow.

In summary, Bad Newz delivers laughs, surprises, and a dash of emotional depth. While the second half veers into sighs and moans, the overall experience is a mixed bag. If you’re up for a hilarious ride, this movie won’t disappoint!
