Rumors had been circulating that Sukumar’s highly anticipated action thriller, Pushpa: The Rule, would not meet its initially announced release date of August 15.
New Release Date of Pushpa 2
On Monday evening, lead actor Allu Arjun confirmed the delay through a post on his X handle. He shared a new poster for Pushpa 2: The Rule, depicting himself in the role of Pushpa Raj. In the poster, he dons a grey t-shirt layered with a brown shirt and a matching bandana, holding a sword menacingly on his shoulder and gazing intensely at the camera. His caption read, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024.”

Speculation about Pushpa 2’s status intensified as other films slated for an August 15 release were announced. Originally, Pushpa 2 was set to compete with Rohit Shetty’s Bollywood cop drama Singham Again and Nikkhil Advani’s action thriller Vedaa. Last week, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and Puri Jagannadh’s sci-fi action film Double iSmart were also added to the lineup. Subsequently, Jio Studios moved Singham Again to a Diwali release, replacing it with the horror comedy Stree 2 for the August 15 slot.
