Following a highly successful run on Indian television with Comedy Nights With Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show, comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma is now making his mark in the OTT space with a similar concept. His new show, titled The Great Indian Kapil Show, is set to start streaming from March 30.

In the announcement video for the show, Kapil is seen sitting with his team, brainstorming ways to reveal the show’s title. Suddenly, Sunil Grover makes a grand entrance. When someone suggests announcing the show’s name with skywriting, Sunil cautions against it, saying, “Let’s stay away from planes.” The infamous rift between Kapil and Sunil began after a altercation on board a flight.

Kapil Sharma will be joined by Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, and Rajiv Thakur on his upcoming show. Starting from March 30th, the show will stream weekly. Speaking at the event, Kapil Sharma expressed his excitement, saying, “Finding our new home at Netflix has been one of the best things to have happened to us. And like we mentioned previously as well, ‘Bas Ghar Badla Hai, Parivaar Nahi.’ We are excited and all geared up to entertain our fans not just in India, but across the globe. Dil thaam ke baithiye, as we present to you, The Great Indian Kapil Show, from 30 March only on Netflix!”

Set in the lively atmosphere of an airport, The Great Indian Kapil Show is a variety chat show featuring prominent celebrity guests every week. This show also marks the reunion of Kapil and Sunil after their infamous fight in 2017.

Previously, when discussing the resolution of their differences, Sunil remarked, “Initially, it would unsettle me, but not anymore. I am aware of the truth, so whatever someone says or comprehends, it’s their concern, not mine. Those who accuse, what credibility do they have? If there’s a need to respond, I will, but often, there’s no necessity for clarification. They lack a complete understanding of the situation, no factual basis; they merely speak because it’s their duty. Negative narratives tend to garner more attention. Eventually, they will comprehend.”
