5 Childhood Memories That Can Bring Back Nostalgia

Category-

Childhood memories are always special to every individual. It seems a lot has changed for the new Gen Z kids, so much so that it feels like we’re living in two completely separate worlds. This notion becomes so much more apparent to me as I grow older.

Some between the age of 20-30 get reminded of it every time they talk to a teenager. But we can’t help but feel that the kind of childhood our generation grew up with was much more exciting.

These days, kids have access to exciting technology and gadgets like the Self Balancing Hoverboard, they have new experiences and content made available for them and they have the world at their fingertips.

Call us crazy, but we really do feel like a simple childhood is a much more memorable one. On that note, here are some awesome moments from our childhood we can never forget:

Playing outside with childhood friends

Sorry to hit you with the cliche but it’s true. Kids today are concealed inside their homes, simply gluing their eyes to the YouTube Kids section and watch other kids build Lego forts.

Where’s the fun in that? Going outside, getting your hands dirty, playing with the kids from your neighborhood block.

That’s how we learned negotiation skills, teamwork, and most important of all – how not to cry when your face gets hit by a ball.

Disney movies

Disney Originals these days just don’t have that little dash of magic in them anymore. They were at their peak back in the day, right?

Who can forget iconic movies like The Cheetah Girls, High School Musical, and Lemonade Mouth?

We do still enjoy most of them to this day.

Happy Meal Toys

Happy Meals at McDonald’s usually contained toys that were based on the latest movie which was being released.

When we saw commercials on TV that advertised the new toys, we’d keep nagging our parents to get us a Happy Meal.

On the few occasions that it worked, and we got the toy we really wanted out of their entire selection, it was the best feeling in the world. The actual food was a plus, of course.

Their fries remain unmatched and so does that feeling of excitement while getting your new toy.

Best cartoons during ’90s childhood

We don’t know what we’d do if we didn’t have an array of some of the best cartoons to be released in television history playing during my time.

Mainstream shows like Powerpuff Girls, SpongeBob, Ben10 were, of course, the favorites of many people.

But what about the underrated shows you might’ve forgotten about? Shows like Code Name Kids Next Door and Ed, Edd, and Eddy were my life!

Not Counting Calories

This doesn’t really need an explanation. Teenagers these days are into calorie counting and body shaming but back in the day, we were unheard of that little concept. Which is why we were able to form much much deeper bondings, understanding, and relationships that are even lasting to date.
